I am about to publish a new app and sometimes that feels alot like The Duggers having a new baby...questionable??? I mean at a certain point how many apps can a boutique company like Nomad Candy really support? We have learned alot of lessons here and we hope The Duggers have too. For instance, it takes alot more then a great concept or inception to make a go of it on iTunes. You can't just have a kid or an App say a few high level statements publically and whamo it's a great thing. It takes alot of dedication after it launches to keep it's morale high. Great graphics and functionality just will not get you out of the App middle class or worse in The Duggers case hidden problems can land you in the slammer. That I suppose could be true with Apps as well. Although a white collar slammer is preferable I would think.
We can't share all the juicy nuggets but we will soon. Alas, we have few choice qualities that we hope will launch this thing big. It has a hip fun brand with 2 k's in the name giving it that marketing kick just like Kodak. It has a social sharing component to help naturally drive traffic, it links into other social media to put gas on the go pedal, we can sell it both to consumers and white label it for events and businesses and thankfully, we don't need to develop any additional content for it. Everyone knows content development is the silent App Killer. Finally, we are escaping our product comfort zone, kicking the dust off our marketing hat and grabbing the Social Media bullhorn. Just don't expect everything we say to be crafted just so we are product people after all. Alas, we are again hopeful this next lil baby is going to be a gem. Just like The Duggers it is a numbers game some might be losers but with some dedication ones bound to hit it big, or not...Either way share with us what you think makes a great App! We would love your thoughts. It takes an Internet village after all.
