I have taught before and now I am gratefully teaching IOS intro to development at General Assembly. Teaching suits me as I love to help others and I have big bubbly personality that loves to efficiently drive anything from A to Z at maximum speed. I also know teaching makes me kick into Alpha gear, make sure all the lil floating ends of questions in my head are complete and keeps me sharp and exposed to what's going on outside my personal pixel bubble. So, for a few hours I put on Super Swift Girl Suit and dive to Ponce City Market and take a breather from my ball and chain machine. This week I was more then thankful I did. I am a product empress at heart. I love to make things and oggle at their wonder and share them with a few close friends. For someone in the app biz it is the quicksand of compulsions. The more habitually I focus on products, the more profoundly I glaze the walls of my lil finite snow globe and hover close to my beautiful snow flakes. I am locked in my own lil world. I was always a very charismatic and socialable girl teetering on introvert and extrovert but with so many hours behind the machine it is always a challenge to both make it and market it and there is always so much more to do to make things just so! To my great fortune in exchange for teaching an extremely bright lil angel some code I got a wake up call in marketing. The women in class had made a cute lil greeting card app. To be clear had outsourced coding the greeting card app to someone far away in India and no, it doesn't work perfectly and yes, she is stressed she will never get the code but she is a Social Media super star. Smartly, she kicked my Emory students booty at marketing and had a Instagram account for her app where she had consistently posted extremely cute pics from her app. She admitted this was providing her with significant downloads. Well, I thought Invitempt itunes.com/app/Invitempt is not all that different. I have since gone nuts following people and posting DIY Indie Invites from Invitempt. It really does pay to get out in the world and share what you got, you learn so much from everyone else.
